It's almost this time...

Ok, so not really.. maybe it's just the heat getting to me but I am really, really excited for the holidays this year! (I am excited every year, so this is not really anything new) I was organizing my iphoto the other day and came across these pictures...

This will be our 5th Christmas together, and our 4th since we have been living together. CRAZY!

It's hard to see in this picture but Zak's stocking is flannel and has a black bear on it. Yes, I picked it out for him and yes, I am obsessed with it.

This was Zak's opening his one lonely present from me last year. These uggs were the shining glory of all my christmas shopping. I bought these along with a couple other things in early november because I LOVE Christmas so much and get too excited! But then I ended up giving him all the rest of the presents like a month too early. Hence, these were all that was left on X-mas morning. I suck at surprises! (Incase you didn't know this already)

This last Christmas was extra, extra fun because Corinne was there! It was our first holidays in our house together and we had a blast. This last year was also a milestone because we FINALLY got a REAL (I mean real annoying to strap on the top of the roof) TREE! It smelled so delicious and I was super bummed when finally, after weeks of it being brown, we had to get rid of it.

This year I am asking santa for a pretty, sparkly new present. I have been a super good girl. I got all good grades. I even was nice to my brother! I think all of these things combined make me more than qualified. (Wink, wink.)

But hey, If he doesn't come through there's always next christmas right?

This soon will be MINE!!!

Since fate has chosen that the boy I love would have a name starting with the random-est letter in the alphabet, I have had the hardest time looking for an initial charm! I decided a couple years ago that they are just the sweetest things and that I wanted to carry him around my neck but up until now could not find any that didn't contain the letters, k, j, a, s, m or r. Much to my chagrin, while looking through the ever-so-precious stella & dot catalog I came across this beauty and, YES - they carry the whole alphabet and can provide me with a Z!

My boss, who also happens to be the mother of my two favorite kids, is hosting a Stella & Dot party in september and after that you can bet your little bottom I will have this presh little trinket around my neck. Yay for finding what you are looking for! And yay for blogging on my day off while sitting on the couch with a wicked sore throat!

ahh- the small joys in life <3

(ps: everyone go immediately to stelladot.com!)

It's crazy to me,

how sometimes I think of the really special people in my life and am blown away by how much they shape and affect my day to day. It's even crazier when for just a moment I can step outside myself to get the full scope of this realization. I am crazy blessed in the family department. I am just as blessed in the friend department, and I just can't imagine my life without the people who I talk to every day and see on a regular basis who keep me sane! I can not thank them enough for putting up with me & loving me just as I am. You guys know who you are. And you all deserve 10,000 cupcakes and snickerdoodles for making my life so sweet <3

PEOPLE I LOVE: INSTALLMENT 2

This is Erin. gosh, i love this girl. We have known eachother for a long stinkin time. We met when she was in 5th grade and I was in 6th grade because we were in a combo class together. After our class we found out we lived on the same street! We have so many memories of growing up together - summers hanging out on our street together, highschool dances, birthdays, dance recitals, boyfriends, sleep overs. She has been there for me through many tough times and I am so thankful for that.

hahahahaha this picture makes me laugh and is our relationship in a nutshell.

We used to have these journals that we would pass back and forth where we wrote letters to each other and put funny magazine cutouts and pictures in it. I'm pretty sure she still has them in her closet somewhere!!
Erin has always just been such a fun, caring, sweet friend.
(This was from her 21st birthday, sake is delicious!)

Erin & I went to Kenya together in 2005. It was life changing. We stayed together for two weeks while visiting orphanages, schools, delivering mosquito nets to people in need, & singing in tin roofed churches. I could not imagine making this trip & experiencing this without her!

Number one example of how fun she is,
BOUNCE HOUSE at her college graduation party!!!!
AMAZING!

Oh Eri, you rock!

PEOPLE I LOVE: INSTALLMENT 1

This is Megan, or Mag as i call her. We met our senior year of high school because we were seated right next to each other and of course we hit it off right away. We have two things we like to do everytime we get together: Target & Joanne's. We have been through a lot together in the last couple years but are now growing up and turning into real adults! haha She is now working at Focus Features in la and is kicking ass in the movie industry!

Megan is the most crafty/organized person I know. Her closet has always been color coordinated and all of the clothes are catagorized by type. She also always has the best ideas for making sweet homemade gifts.

She is such a thoughtful person and has made me some of the sweetest birthday/christmas presents I have gotten! ps: She's also born on St. Patrick's Day! awesome!

Things that remind me of her:
snapple apple
heart tattoos
gas station mexican food
cupcakes
sushi
asian babies
baking
pokey's
deb - the biggest bon jovi lover ever!
macaroni grill macaroni and cheese
frank & Judy ( awww this one is the best)

Ok- thats all for now.
Love you!

Monthaversaries.

So, this is not a real word. I know. But this is what I have been calling our monthly "special day" that we have leading up to our real anniversary. Its weird to think thats over four years ago I started this. Probably one of the longest traditions in our relationship. Anywho, today is our 50th monthaversary. Just thought I would share. Its fun to still call it that years after our dating fun began. This one just feels like a sweet milestone of some sorts. Gosh I love that boy.

One last thing before I head to bed.

These shoes make me weak in the knees. I spotted them about 8 months ago and am constantly waiting for them to go on sale. no luck yet. but, if your looking for something to get me for christmas or- just as a happy wednesday gift... I would be ecstatic!
ok, night night.

My Grammie.

Tomorrow is my grammie's 91st birthday. She is freakin rad and acts like she's 21, not 91! haha She is always hanging out with her friends at the clubhouse where she lives and is constantly doing sweet things like traveling to see her grandkids and raking in the $$ at casinos! The best thing she every told me occurred in a conversation that went something like this...

me: ya, my boobs used to be nice
but since i gained 40 pounds and lost 40
pounds they just keep getting smaller
and smaller and sadder.

grammie: well, you can always get fake ones.

ahh- grammie, I love you <3
